Kronstadt, Romania - January 4th, 1983 While attending grammar school in Cologne, Alex developed a craze for Latin dance. He became the German champion in D-class, before focusing on modern dance in 2003. During his education at the Fontys Dance Academy in Tilburg he gained experience in choreographies by Leine & Roebana, Cesar Augusto Moniz, Pieter de Ruiter and Andrea Boll. From 2007 till June 2009 he danced with the International Dance Theatre. This is Alex' third season with De Stilte.
Rome, Italy - November 11th, 1974 As a dancer, Andrea worked for the Saarbrücken State Theatre, Der Komische Oper in Berlin and Rotterdam Dance Works. He cooperated in multiple projects with a.o. Bruno Listopad, Leine & Roebana, Piet Rogie en Neel Verdoorn. As assistant to Marguerite Donlon, he presented a number of pieces in Saarbrücken, Paris and Berlin. Andrea currently holds a position at ROC Aventus as coordinator of the modern dance department and teaches students of the ‘Bachelor of dance in education’ at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts. Together with Sara Lourenco he choreographed the piece Mr. Pickwick for De Stilte last season, whilst also dancing one of the parts.
Moskow, Russia - December 16th, 1988 Ekaterina starts her education at the State Ballet School in Moscow where she is accepted into the Contemporary Dance School of Nikolai Ogryzkov. She moves to the Netherlands to study at the Rotterdam Dance Academy Codarts, for which she receives the Nuffic Scolarship in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2009 she was a trainee in the Dutch comapny Noord Nederlandse Dans. Aside from teaching at the K-dans studio in the Hague, Ekaterina has danced in choreographies by Pedro Goucha (Cadance Festival 2011), Anouk van Dijk, George Reichl en Ivan Schauvliege. This is her first season with De Stilte.
Bologna, Italy - October 9th, 1987 After studying at the Studio del Movimento in Budrio (Italy) from 1996 to 2006, Elena receives a scholarship for education at the Centro Danza e Movimento in Florence. In 2007 she moves to the Netherlands where she starts at Codarts Dance Academy Rotterdam. Her performance in the dance piece ‘Within’ by Luisa Guicciardini qualifies her for the semi-finals in the international competition 'Citta di Spoleto'. For the 'Kylian-van Manen for young dancers project' she dances in the Holland Dance Festival on tour 2009-2010. Elena did her internship at De Stilte last season. This is her first season in the dancer ensemble.
Napels, Italy - November 15th, 1988 Following a four-year education at the Associazione Culturale Movimento Danza and a summer course at the Royal Ballet School in London, Fabio leaves for the Netherlands to study at the Rotterdam Dance Academy Codarts. Aside from his internship with Introdans in 2010, Fabio performs at the Holland Dance Festival in choreographies by Hans van Manen (Vision Fugitive) and Jiri Kylian (Bella Figura, Wings of Wax). This is Fabio’s first season with De Stilte
Caracas, Venezuela - March 19th, 1979 Following his graduation as a dance teacher (ballet and jazz technique) at Codarts Dance Academy in 2007, Orlando started teaching dance at multiple dance schools. As a dancer he performed in choreographies by Nanine Linning (Cry Love), Itzik Galili (Peeled), Roy Cambermore (7 Deadly Sins), Amir Houssenpour (Castor & Pollux), Mylene Benoit (La Chair du Monde) and others. This is Orlando’s third season with De Stilte.
Warsaw, Poland - December 19th, 1986 Katarzyna (Kasia) studied at the Roman Turczynowicz Warsaw Ballet School in Poland when she reaches the finals of the Polish Dance Competition in Gdansk. After graduating from the Rotterdam Dance Academy in 2008, she dances in choreographies by a.o. Nanine Linning, Ton Simons and Krisztina the Châtel. With the folk dance company 'Stokosy' she travelled around Poland, Finland, Austria, Slovakia and Italy. This is Kasia’s fourth season with De Stilte.
Mount Gambier, Australia - August 23rd, '91 Completing the Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 2 examination with distinction, Madeline is accepted into the University of Melbourne, Faculty VCA and Music. She successfully completes the first semester ‘Bachelor of Dance’ before moving to the Netherlands where she continues her education at the Rotterdam Dance Academy Codarts. She gains stage experience in choreographies by a.o. Jiri Kylian (A way alone) and Itzik Galili (Chameleon). In 2011 Madeline is selected for the Codarts ‘Talent on the Move’ tour, dancing repertoire of Itzik Galili, Regina van Berkel and Jérôme Meyer & Isabelle Chaffaud. This is Madeline’s first season with De Stilte as a trainee.
Switzerland - June 17th, 1990 Born in Switzerland, Mirella heads back to Portugal to pursue her dance ambitions. She dances with the Kale Dance Company for a year before moving to the Netherlands in 2008. Studying ‘Bachelor of Dance’ at the ArtEZ Academy for the Arts Arnhem she gains stage experience in choreographies by Ann van den Broek (Ed), Marco Gerris (Mixed Emotion) en Ed Wubbe (Twelve). This is Mirella’s first season with De Stilte as a trainee.
Lenzburg, Switzerland - January 15th, 1989 Aged only 7, Naima develops her passion for dancing. She successfully follows a number of educations in Switzerland and Italy, a.o. de Scuola di Danza del Teatro dell Opera di Roma en de Accademia Nazionale di Danza di Roma, before starting her education at the Rotterdam Dance Academy Codarts. In 2009 she is selected to perform in a choreography by Benedict MacIsaac in Canada. This is Naima’s first season with De Stilte as a trainee.
Wyszkow, Poland - February 20th, 1989 Paulina is currently a student at the Rotterdam Dance Academy Codarts. This is her first season with De Stilte as a trainee.
Pisa, Italy - December 21st, 1990 Aged 10, Valeria starts her dance education at the Associazione Europea Danza Livorno in Italy. Her talent does not remain unnoticed and she is granted two scholarships to attend summer courses at the National Ballet School (2004) and the Royal Ballet School (2005) in London. In 2005 she leaves for Germany where she is accepted into the John Cranko Ballet Schule in Stuttgart. During this period she has danced choreographies by Hans van Manen (In and Out), Bridget Breiner (Zeitsprunge) en Rolando d’Alesio (Come neve al sole). After working at the Stuttgart Ballett for a season, she has started her education at the Rotterdam Dance Academy Codarts in 2010. This is Valeria’s first season as a trainee with the Stilte.
Katowice, Poland - October 25th, 1987 Wiktoria (Wika) starts her education at the Ballet School in Bytom, Poland where she reaches second place at the International Choreography Competition with her solo-choreography. Additionally, she wins the Audience Award in the Annual Absolvents Dance Contest in Szczecin. After two seasons of internship at De Stilte, Wika graduates from the Rotterdam Dance Academy Codarts in 2010. This is her second season in the dance ensemble. |
